Which diesel fuel pump?

Hi All
Fuel pump started dripping so I thought to save a bit and get a working 2nd hand replacement off eBay, then provide to local dub specialist to fit, and do a new cam belt etc at the same time.

I probably should have come on here for advice earlier....

I did have a 1.6d engine before I blew it up, so now i have a 1.9 diesel mk3 Golf engine put in about 5 years ago.
I can't get in touch with my mechanic of the time - would he have used the fuel pump from the old 1.6 or the 1.9? I remember him talking about how he was trying to avoid having to create a bump in the engine cover to accommodate it - which isn't ideal with a camper.

Anyway, I hastily sourced a 1.6 pump off fleabay, and my new mechanic has done it all apart from putting the new cam belt on the pulley...because, it turns out this afternoon, it doesn't protrude long enough ... I.e. the fuel pump is wrong.
Is this because the 1.6 fuel pump is incorrect for the 1.9 engine?

Basically I'm trying to source a new replacement that definitely fits, so I only have to pay out twice for the fitting -- rather than three times!!

Would this one on fleabay fit?-

Thanks for any help

It would be easier to just replace the seals in your pump - assuming that is where the leak is.

Good luck with finding a pump if it is a 1y without the electronics, took me 8 weeks to find one and then that one leaked, bite the bullet and take the old one to a specialist and get it resealed.

Found a fuel pump specialist - spoke to them and they think from my 'dripping from the top" description, that the answer is to replace the "throttle.......(something)" on the pump.

Dropped it off there and they say they.ve fixed it, so now to collect and have original mechanic put it back in.

Fingers crossed

10p o-ring - you could have done it yourself without removing the pump from the engine.

Conversely I could have had a go and created a living nightmare ... Which usually happens when I touch engines!
