Newb ...
Never cooked in my van yet as we only got it in October, but I'm wondering what to do for cooking fud. I happy to to cook beans & toast and boil a kettle on the van's hob but I don't fancy doing a full fry up as I guess it will stink the van out.
Whats do you guys use when you're out on a camp? Any recommendations?

It all depends on how you cook, I s'pose. Without wanting to cause offence, if you're one of those who can spread an inch of grease over everywhere around the cooker, then - yep - it's gonna get messy, quickly. We were knocking up "proper meals" for two on the two rings for 17 months without anything smelling much or getting filthy - a quick wipe-around of everywhere afterwards was all that was needed. Everything around the cooker's stainless on our Westy, so that makes life easier. I think the only thing we drew the line at was frying fish.
You'll want a roof vent or something open anyway, just to let the steam out, because it gets very sauna-like quickly otherwise. That tends to take any smell, too.
The bigger pain is getting the washing up done in the weeny sink. It's doable, but if it's nice out, then a plastic bowl on the camping table outside's a lot easier.

My girlfriend normally rustles up proper cooked meals with fresh veg and pasta etc, but I'm more of a tinned curry or sardines on toast sort of cook. Being able to knock up a quick hot meal after surfing or hiking is one of the best things about having a camper.

This is one of the best things we've bought for cooking when we have electric hook up and certainly saves on using the gas:

Basically it's a multi cooker, a big favourite is pizza!! We cook all sorts, curries, stews, chilli, pasta dishes and it will even cook popcorn. It cleans really easy with a quick wipe around and then it's ready for breakfast.
