Hi all, need to replace the hand brake bar as mine has snapped. managed to get a good one from billy739(thanks), just had a look under the van and it looks like you have to remove the fuel tank to do it, is this true ? any tips to doing this job would be very much appreciated

Thanks stephen.....

yes you have to remove tank as plastic block on cable is fastened to connector on floor

i dont think so shure the part is now obsolete , you only need to lower tank not remove it

If it's snapped off at the balance bar (i.e. part of the thread is left) then use a long nut and a piece of stainless M6 threaded rod to renew the missing section.

Thanks for the info chaps... the bar snapped just after the threaded section, it has been welded but not that confident in such a thin bar being welded together, looks like the tank will have to be dropped and it replaced as i have a good replacement.

Great help as usual
