I've gotta get round to it. It keeps popping off where the plastic goes into the rubber down by the bottle, and whilst it's reachable, it's so tight you could just about get a middle C out of it. This morning, it'd not only fallen off, but when I got to my destination, there were blue icicles hanging under the front of the van...

So. Is it actually possible to get to the pipework without taking the dash out? Some of it's behind the grille, IIRC - but what about all the way to the washers? Can I get the washers themselves out from the front, and pull the plumbing through with new connected to old?

Bound to get hooked up on something. Wouldn't you be better off using an in-line connector at an accessible point and using fresh pipe from there on down?

Washer jets twist and turn to pull out but go easy cos if you lose hose you'll be removing dash anyway. I used a softer silicon hose from aquatic shops as it doesn't go rock hard like the old pipes.

It might be just doable but I wouldn't risc it. I had the dash out last week to do the heater matrix and replaced all the pipes at the same time. There is very little space above the heater blower and you have the moving parts for the wiper mechanism in the same area. Washer pipe is clipped in 2 places to keep it out of harms way. Probably best to just put a weekend aside and plod on with removing the dash. I was surprised how easily it all came apart once I got started.

OK, that's the killer for me. Thanks all. Yep, looks like a splice where I can get to, and do the lot if/when the dash is out.

why not just add a joining piece from a aquarium shop and then just add a longer piece to that, next time you take the dash out you could then replace the whole lot with silicon pipe
