Snow damaged wiper

Hi all,

So came home a week ago to see one of my wipers wrapped down over the front grill as the weight of the snow had pulled it down.

On checking, the left hand wiper still works fine (I have a LHD ) however the right hand now just twitches but tries to go.

Is there any easy way to get to the R/H motor/link bar to check/change without pulling the dash? - and is it more likely to have stripped the teeth or could it be the link bar damaged etc.?

Thanks again in advance.

Doh....was looking past the obvious....although I had tightened the nut to ensure the arm was on I hadn't checked the splines which had totally stripped.

Just got a needle file and cut/remade the splines, reattached and working - phew!

Will ensure blades are in the up position now if there is snow forecast!

Had the same issue, recutting the splines resolved it like you have done

you dont need to recut the splines!

they just become filled with wiper arm alluminium

use a stanly blade and drag it through each spline cleaning it out , then refit the arm
