Afternoon All,

Just wondered as to whether anyone has changed the manual transmission fluid on their van and what issues, if any, they came across (my van has a 5 speed dog-leg).

Many Thanks in advance!

Justin.

Undo the fill plug BEFORE the drain plug (both are 17mm hexagon plugs so either an M12 bolt, nuts and a 17mm spanner or a proper 'Bit tool' are required.) The box holds about 4 litres of Comma SX75w/90 semi-synthetic gear oil ... cheaply available from Wilko's. fill to level with the fill bung.

Top tip!
Get a length of clean garden hose about three feet long , and either a funnel that fits in it or a transmission oil bottle and route it into the engine bay near to the air filter housing, the oil will now gravity feed without the need for you to hold it for the duration.
The duration will be considerably shorter the warmer the oil is, so take the can it comes in for a warm bath prior to doing the job !

If you are fortunate enough to have use of a 4 post lift then you could use one of these ...
