how difficult a job to do,any pitfalls ? i`ve done wheel bearings on cars but never on my t25 and the front sound dry and in need of replacing or can they just be greased and refitted ?

AutoData info alots just over a hour each side (probably an hour an a half the first time). Really easy and not particularly difficult. However, there is a certain 'tecnique' to knocking the new bearing races into the disc which I must admit, isn't difficult but there is a 'nack' to doing it.
You will need a nice 'dressed' medium punch.
Don't 'load' the bearings..they are taper roller type so you basically just take out the free play (you should actually feel a little play in the wheel when rocked at 6 & 12 O' clock).
Pack the bearings by dragging grease through them until it appears on the other side....put some in between the bearing void and cap but just bare in mind to leave space for expansion (don't over pack).

Yes they can be cleaned, examined and re-greased if you know what you are looking at?. You will need a new inner seal (this has to be removed to access the inner/larger bearing) and a new stub axle nut (because they have a peened lip which often gets damaged).

However....if you can hear they are 'DRY' then either you are hearing pad to disc contact OR the bearings are foobared & beyond service.
Be careful of bearing quality....there are alot of very cheap Chinese and eastern european rubbish out there which won't last a year.....(Brickwerks is always a good source for quality parts).

As Martin said ... I use a 20mm diameter brass rod as a punch to knock the outer races out and in again, softer than the steel so it can't score or damage anything. Once you've done the first one you could do them all day at an hour a side in and out including coffee.

brilliant thanks guys i`ll look forward to my next dry day off then and get them done .i`ve got a good selection of tools and a workshop at my disposal and they sound pretty straight forward. so thanks again .
