Greetings... I'm trying to decide somewhere worth going in the van for Valentinesday.. Looking at staying for a night or two.... Any suggestions.... I know it's out of season....
It's got to be good as she's never been camping before and if it's like a trip to Sobbibor I doubt I'll get her in the van again..

About 1 1/2 to 2 hours drive for you but a really nice site. Wonderful scenery, good facilities (bearing in mind she is a first time camper) plus a pub at the entrance with real ales and good food (if you can't be arsed cooking).
Enjoy!

Had a look at the site map and noticed it was off Kirkton Pass. The Pass is notoriously steep and my 1.7d is not a happy bunny going up it. We got behind a huge motor home once and as it was going so slow we really struggled.
I don't want to put you off, it looks like a great site, but wanted you to be aware.

If you head in from the north - just by Rhegged - you'll be fine.
I've only got a 1.9 dg and I got in and out in snow without snow chains.
