The MoT man says one headlamp aims too low. I've taken off the grille, identified the correct two screws and had a go at turning them but it's hard to tell if I'm making it better or worse, and I'm worried about snapping something. I'm guessing: to raise the headlamp do I turn the lower screw anti-clockwise and the upper clockwise?

On the other headlamp a big crack had let water in, deflecting the beam. Water is now out; is there a smart way to glue the glass? I believe that superglue doesn't like the wet.

Had a crack in one of my head lamps for last MOT. Got onto local windscreen repair man to asses cost to repair lamp. Reply Not worth me coming out.. Next time I require a new screen, Guess who wont get the job.

To be fair, though, the cost of replacing a headlamp with new is going to be less than any repair person's minimum repair charge. Surely? But these things can be said politely...

As for mine, it's got a crack right the way across, but has passed two MoTs (at least) as such. The problem is simply the ingress of water. I'm holding off replacing it because it's got a non-standard bulb which I'd have to replace at the same time. When the bulb blows: new headlamp. In the meatime a low-viscosity glue would be handy.

On the part of your original question about adjusting screws I think that one screw does up and down, while the other does side to side. Just looked at Haynes and it doesn't say which is which - guess you need to try it - I've certainly managed to sort them out in the past.
