Serious?

If so where in the dash do you think a double din stereo would fit? :?

Haha,

One of my local buddies said the same thing, but honestly, the unit is far enough away to not worry about that!

If you think about it, all I have done is put the unit in by cutting upwards not down, so if that was to happen, any radio fitting would be whacked. :ok

True but the one you have fitted sits a lot lower and sticks out further than a normal stereo so more chance of it being knuckled.

Ahh I see, no, actually Steve.

The yeah it does stick out a touch more, it's not any lower, I used the original single DIN slot as a base reference, for two reasons.

1. It keeps the whole lot square, by using the original hole and extending upwards.
2. Any lower and you'll be cutting into the heater matrix.

Only issue I had was the heater control cables....................

No Steve, it's the angle the pic is taken, and the unit has a tilting screen that slides outwards. That's all mate.

On a side note, what steering wheel is this and would it be a straight fit onto my T25? Looks like Passat at a guess??
Thanks

Mark,

It's a Mk2 Gti Leather wheel. You'll need a spline bush if your van is older I guess. My van is an 85, which shares a lot of the stuff my Mk1 Cabby Gti has too?

So, as bush's go, I got mine from the main dealer in Norwich £12.

Does that make it a Gash Dash?

Lol, hey, only making use of what I have to hand.

However, I do have a spare dash, just in case I goofed!! :D

It would be less hassle buying a new single din radio than change a dash.
