I know this has been covered before but the old board has gone and I don't have the info now.

In Tom's "offroad driving" he writes "I have 235/75/15's".. is this a typo or were you running that size tyre Tom?

U can use 235 75 15 but u need to do body mods and suspension mods.
These are quite extensive as well.

The tyres that Thomas wrote about were 225/75/15, on granada steel 15s. A genuine mistake I am positive of, and they got him out of some deep holes.

Thanks all for the info.
Although Fast Forward state that the biggest you can run are 29" tyres, I think that they would catch on the front and that is for the rear arms only as an example.

Russel,
Do they catch at the front at all... or anywhere on the van for that matter?

Have you altered anything else?

Thanks

Ure rims must have an enourmouse off set to miss the trailing arms.Even then the least amount off muck off road stuck between ure trailing arm and tyre will easily damage ure tyre.On the front if u have to touch ure brakes a bit harder thau usual the tyres WILL catch the rear of ure wheel arch and this is on tar not off road. Then u can multiply ure problem when off road. The biggest tyre u will get on a syncro(for safe and reliable off roading)with slight mods is a 215 75 15.This will still catch the rear of ure front arch when on rough ground and requre a small mod to trailing arm.
Anything bigger will require extensive body and suspension mods to be safe and reliable.
Anyone can in some way fitt anything to a vehicle but remember all these mods affect ure vehicle and have nock on effects.
A 14's shockabsorbers were desighned for the weight of a (at biggest) 205 75 14 and so the brakes.
These are 2 of the many aspects negatively affected by bigger tyres that u will have to adress.
