Please can anyone let me know where I can find someone in Sth London (or near) to show me how the electrics and gas fridge operate. Someone who can service both for me

Have you googled the make model? Quite possible you may find a user manual online. If its not working try turning it upside down for 24 hours. This is a very common 'fix'. Worked for the fridge in my caravan and for many others
