Hello. Hope everyone is well!

I've posted one or two things before but not actually introduced myself or ourselves.

We are Matt and Danni and have not had our 1986 1.6 CS Diesel T25 long but are thoroughly enjoying it!

The van is a Holdsworth Villa 3 conversion with an underslung fresh water tank. The previous owner cut the pipe to the tank from the filling point (it's just hanging around now) and paneled over the hole for the filling point (not too sure why). I'm guessing the filler point would have been on the door pillar?

The plan is to try and get the running water system back in action - the pump and tap work (the tank was manually filled a little with a hose pipe to test).

The question is how do I re-attach the filler pipe?

Cut a new hole and fit a new pipe and filler cap? Does anyone know the route for this?

It may be a silly question but the filler pipe is attached quite low on the tank. . . . Will the water level get above this without pressurised filling?

I think the water filler was in exactly the same position on the passenger side as the fuel filler position on the driver's side, so not on the 'pillar' as such, but the panel below the door. You can buy new locking filler caps etc from caravan accessory suppliers and I would suspect ebay.

Useful site in case you haven't seen it; can just make out the fresh water inlet below the passenger doors in the pictures (unless it's for something else but I doubt it)

Hi, the water filler sits right next to the door, the same as the fuel on the other side. Here is a photo of my Autosleeper with water filler visible.

That's child labour using her as the water filler!

on the villa 3 you fill the water tank inside the van just behind the passenger seat , there is no extra filler on the outside of the van

1664, the link you posted is very useful, thank you. I think I stumbled on it a while back but never put two and two together!

Reading it, there were two filler points, depending on the conversion. One inside and one outside.

I don't think mine had the inside filler, as it's all original carpets behind the passenger seat. So must be the outside filler.

The filler pipe goes in to the tank low down on the side, will water fill above this without pressure? Do people use water containers and top it up or do people use hose pipes?

I think because the filler cap part is above the highest point of the tank then it should fill just fine.
But the filler pipe will be permanently full of water (up to the same level as the tank - if that makes sense)

I also have a Villa 3, and my filler is a Fiamma item on the outside as in the pic of the Autohomes above. There is a vent / overflow on top of the tank, and as you fill the tank it bleeds air out through the vent and when it starts overflowing you stop filling. Simple! There's no air locking issues, and the water just finds it's own level. Just do the filling where it won't matter that a few litres goes on the floor, so not in the garage or whatever. Hope this helps!
