I'm considering covering my dash with foam backed vinyl. Has anyone done this and if so any tips

I did mine in good quality black leather. Bought good quality leather as it can stretch a lot and using a heat gun (on low) and a high temp spray glue to hold it down. Worked a treat for me and even did all the other bits that attach to the dash like the vent cover, dash pod cover, glove box & differential lock switch panel (Syncro). I'm VERY chuffed at the way its come out. I took my time and it was actually relatively easy.
I wouldnt/didnt use foam backed vinyl as vinyl doesnt stretch without warping that much and the foam backing would make it look all "swollen" looking and I thought it would look cheap.
Have a go with leather, you'll be surprised how easy it is. Start in the center and work your way around slowly.

I think I've seen a place that do a spray covering service
In Hampshire it comes out slightly soft with what ever texture you want
Eg leather I'll see if I can find a link
