gearbox banjo breather pipe

Hi,

I just removed the gearbox from my feb '85 DG syncro. I couldn't get it to separate and applied some subtle pressure with my legs and a pry bar. It certainly came apart, and so did the breather banjo pipe that none of the manuals told me to disconnect. Does anyone know

a) where the snapped off end of the breather pipe should connect to?
b) where I can get a replacement breather pipe?

also does anyone know what type of grease is used for the CV joints and how much should be applied for reassembly?

Any guidance very gratefully received,

Zeb

I've probably got a used breather pipe in stock
the banjo fitting is in the intermediate case of the gearbox, the bit that has the mounts attached, the other end just bends into the engine bay and then through one of the holes in the firewall and the open end sits on top of the fuel tank

moly grease 90g per cv so you buy a 500g tub or 4 sachets like the ones that come with the boot kits but the 500g tubs are normally cheaper
