Bolt on style Air Filter for DF motor.

Hi All,
Being a lucky type Ive just purchased a 1.9 DF engined T25..
The autochoke part of the carb body has snapped some time ago by the looks of it, and as such the autochoke dosen't work, not to much of a problem as it not my daily driver, albeit this also is the single mounting point for the airbox, which keeps popping off !! (still runs ok but dont want to hole a piston through running lean )
Ive spent a month searching for a S/H carb to no avail...has anyone ever had any experience of fitting a KN bolt on style filter to a T25 ? not sure if there is enough room, I know there not the best but better than no filter I guess.
Checked through wiki and forum archives, seems my Solex 34 PICT 5 carb is a rare old thing
Any advice most welcome
