Ay up,

I was planning on buying a diagnostic scanner for my B5 Passat and wondered if there is a diagnostic port on the 2.1DJ engines that could also be scanned (I'm sure there isn't as I've never seen one)???

No mate.There isn't.

but diagnostics are covered by the Bentley manual with voltage, Ohm and temperature readings
