Just a quickie announcement as most folks know me thanks to the syncro...
The Big One has finally started at work (~800kg of steel stock to process!) so I'll be unlikely to sign in for a while, effective immediately. We've been waiting on the PO and it came today, so anything resembling the following:
Engines of any sort
Winch mounts
syncro vented front discs
"homers"
etc etc will get pushed aside until late February at the earliest. This job is too important for the business' long-term future so I'm just asking everyone to please be patient and I'll get straight back onto the ancillary VW activities with a vengance once this job has been completed.
Hope to see you all when the Hares start hopping

Thanks fellas, I wish you all the same for 2013. We've been pitching for this one a while but they made us sweat over the New Year!
Tschüss!
PS I'm disabling my pm's to remove the temptation to log in

Just a wee progress report from H.E.Co. :
Looks like we've still got a good fortnight's graft here to rattle out the ancilliary parts for "El Grande" following on from last week's ~500kg delivery to Sterling. Blimey it's long way from NW Surrey to the Lowlands...on the plus side there's not a soul on the M6 Toll at 5 in the morning so we only paid the night rate!
450 miles in under 7 1/2 hours, well done the Vito. Arrived before 11'ses.
A little bonus was getting to see the Falkirk Wheel in action, so it was a proper engineer's day trip after all
For a little more works disruption, we've also got ~4 tonnes of redundant machinery going out this week, which should help the master plan and liberate a nice 6m x 2.5m area just inside the roller shutter door...
PS Anyone want to buy a 2-phase* 300 Amp "portable" arc welding set?
*not a mis-print

At last! Machine movery tomorrow morning, then start to find homes for everything all over again. Why the delays? It's only a half load, so the hauliers from Leicestershire have to combine it with another in the London area to make it worthwhile...
Then we've got to move 3800kg of Huron (the big green one) all of 4m with a 180 degree spin, then we're getting somewhere. Can't wait to get the Legacy wheeled in and stripped out, gotta get the priorities straight

You going Subaru? They do look nice in the engine bay.
Off topic, but are you like likely to be able to get Simons row of seats to me before sat 23rd? I can stick it in the van for when the AA tow it then.

Subaru is a replacement for the one in the silver bus, troublesome old loom nightmare so it's going in the bin!
I can get that bench up to you no problem, you haven't gone full Westy yet have you? You'll need the room

i live about a mile from the wheel, at night it is all lit up, if you are up again, we could meet for a brew in the cafe.

Phase 2 of the aforementioned project has taken off, after a lot of stop/go/umm/ahh etc. never mind all the other commercial machining jobs passing through. So just as I was about to get a load of engine work cleared up (having sourced some new parts suppliers) and maybe even do a bit for myself, it's time to switch off the pm's and get my head down for a few weeks. Can't have swarf flying about while trying to build engines!. Sorry guys.
SP now looks very unlikely for me
