Aircooled?
No. no. no.
If you have to replace go for twin Delorto DRLA carburettors... instant grin factor, you'll never go back

the weber will make your van go even slower

Yup kev and Ian are spot on. That Weber is pants. Either gosee Steve at www.gasure.co.uk to get the solexs refurbed or see Jim at stateside tuning for a dellorto ki.

If you're chasing greater mph then twin Dells are the way to go apparently, if however you're after greater mph & mpg then you've bought the wrong van.

My mate had one, he went to town REALLY trying to get it to work and spent loads of time and money with Weber themselves trying to sort it. ... it's back in it's box and the Pierburg is back on and running just fine.

And it won't be the first or last time that this question will get asked. Even on type 2's, the webber was a terrible choice. At one time I amassed nine of them - all removed after much frustration and expense by their owners. To be fair they can be MADE to work but it then becomes a full time hobby nursing the thing along. Webbers and 009 dizzies have no place on a stock engine. They simply don't match without endless fettling.
