ian here, just to let anyone here know that i am still alive,no i dont answer the work telephone number,i dont go through emails more than twice in a month. i am one man with more than enough on my plate to do me for the past year and most of next. i have never said no to anyone who is in real need of my help or assistance and this has partly put me in the position i find myself in now. i have been trying to get this company for the past 2-3 years into the campervan rental side of things, neither andy or Russel were going to stay here forever but i had no intention of leaving as i had been here for years before Syncro-Nutz was set up. i also have no desire to be able to build a big custom syncro for anyone over a far too long period of time for no visible profit or wages. needless to say that all the promised help and time to build these vans over the past few years didnt materialise, others left with many completed syncros over the years,i still have all mine in pieces and have to pay for all my own parts!
i have amassed a huge amounts of spares over the years and still have dozens of vans which i can work on at my leisure over the rest of my life. i am not in the least bit money orientated or i would be on here selling everyday and night, i love what i do but the fun has seriously gone out of it over the past few years! i am within sight of getting vans ready to hire and this will pay the huge overheads i have for this place, hopefully when i am financially secure i can get back to the good old times when my yard was a meeting place at the weekends for fellow v-dubbers who just appeared for advise, tea, to take parts from donor vans for whatever price they wanted or could afford to pay or swap things i had no need for but they had no cash for.
i could easily build a big garage in my garden and pick a van out from anywhere anyday and make loads of it, all in my spare time i have from going back to being a realy good class one trucker and make 2 or 3 times the amount i was paid when i left it 8 or 9 years ago.
i hope this has explained my absence and my lack of contact the past year, but i have to do this to get to where i want to be,if not then there is a real chance 15 years of collecting parts and a potential £100.000+ of vans and parts would be crushed in a day by my landlord if i dont keep up with rent and the changes that the enviromental department will be imposing here real soon, hope to get back to events/meets soon, cheers mcgill
