no brake lights.main servo has two spades

hi all.have managed to get all the lights working now apart from the brake lights.at the back of the main servo is a switch with two spade conections on it.there are no lose wires hanging under the dash.is there a link wire to the brake light switch from the servo.any ideas greatfully accepted as its doing my nut in

Haven't checked the van, but looking at the Bently & Haynes:- Power for the brake lights goes through fuse 8 which should be 8A. From the fuse a red/yellow wire should go to the brake light switch. From the switch to a four pin connector behind the dash should be a red/black wire. That wire should go to the rear brake lights.

Later fuseboxes is fuse 2, 10amp

If fuse ok try connecting the 2 wirers together to see if it the switch.

The brake light switches are on the master cylinder
Either two switches
Or one switch

You can't help but admire VW's expertise when it comes to shoving stuff in the most inaccessible places. A prostate is easier to get at (apparently)

There not that bad to do once the instruments are removed especially with a stumpy spanner.
