Spent a LOT of money on bodywork in November.

This is what I see now:

The work done here was above the bumper and the step.

Can't figure out where it's coming in.

Any ideas?

did the screen come out and if so what was found / done behind it, cant remember if you said they fitted new screen seal?, as we both know water doesnt often run uphill so I would be doubtfull if step was an issue, have a peel back of the rubber mat from the front of the floor,and have a look for tell-tale water marks,
oh and was there an issue here before

It's normally what mike says. I fitted a new vw rubber to mine and still got water inside, although a bit less. Found a bit coming in around the ariel. I'm now pretty much dry inside since I fitted a new ariel. (oh mike, as per a old conversation. My new ariel is showing the first signs of rust... Lasted a year)

No there wasn't a problem here before. It only started after I accidentally went thru a big puddle last weekend.

I'll pull the matting back after Xmas day and have a proper look.

Thank god I pulled the carpet out a couple of years ago!!

Ah yes, I thought it was the side window seals that were re-used, no need to remove the rubber mat , nip out and just unhook it from the klittle studs at the front and dry off a bit and i would add a weight to keep it out the way and lay a load of say kitchen roll in and in this weather you should have your answer real soon.
ah also re read , big puddle ! still that amount of water would need a big hole to fill so much

a year is good, weather must be worse in scotland as that lasted less than 1/2 year.lol

All the seals were re-used hence I was not happy with the job

I'll go check it out this arvo.

Another thing to add to the list - got to refit the tail gate doorcard after it came back with a single screw holding it in place!!

If it is the window screen leaking how do I fix it??

well IF its the screen area then for a start you will need a new genuine seal I will pm you, then when glass is out check the state of the metal behind, did the screen come out or was it taped up? cos with lift tape ,you would never tell unless you knew where to look,

Before you pull the screen out check the window wash squirters. They would have been prized out to spray behind. If they are loose put a dab of silicone behind them & push them back in place.

It was the reason for the water in the footwell on mine. Just trying to help out .

Ah adrian note the smilie, unlike yourself i have prior knowledge and yes your point is 100% valid but when i say i somehow doubt it , I mean that the folk that did the job would be very unlikely to remove them to paint , well they might but washers like window rubbers always get binned and new genuine fitted,at least here they do

Thanks all - I'll have a proper look over next day two.

Anyone got a pair of spare goldfish - my step has three inches of water!!!!
Admittedly I have got the back jacked up as I am mid engine transplant but even so! Mine is coming in behind the door card - I can see it running down, at least the door seals at the bottom are watertight. Another job for dry weather.

Is the bit that the window rubber fits onto, completely missing?
