I think we had the same problem running very well untill you got to a stop start bit then just stall. Had to wait 10mins to cool, drew changed every thing and it was the fuel filter by the looks of it dos'nt do it any more. :D

Fuel filter. If not, its the pump. Feel the fuel pump to see if its hot

You could drive into West London, Jack's Garage have a good reputation on T25s. Not sure of their address, but Jake or Terry will point you there if you PM one of them.

Does sound its possible that its the pump, if it just misfires or coughs and runs excessively rich before cutting out it might be the Lambda sensor or its wiring, presuming all hoses and engine earths are good. The test in this case is to just turn the ignition off and on (with care) whilst running, to reset the ECU.
If the pump is getting noticeably hot then that is likley to be it, but if its not, that may not mean it gets a clean bill of health - keep it in mind.

could be running too rich at tickover and choking up, which would explain why its fine at cruising speed and if left for a while the heat from engine would evaporate the fuel and it would start OK hope this helps, Dave

AS above, disconnect the lambda sensor to tst if its that, MVs run fien without them, they just do the closed loop leaning off...

Def. change the fuel filter... yes you can run the MV with the Lambda sensor disconnected, as said, it runs acoording to MAP normally with lambda feedback making small corrections
