Hi all,

I seem to be forever washing the yellow camper and having recurring dreams of repainting it in mud colour!! So I wondered are those black wheel arch trims available anywhere for a 14"??
Also thinking about the inner arch ones, I heard vw heritage do them but couldnt find them there, anyone know what they are called pls?

Tks Rob, they are already in my Brickwerks xmas shopping basket !! I'm guessing the outer wheel arch trims are as rare as rocking horse doo doo !!

They are called postal arches. Spannerboy was selling a set a while back. You can also get fibreglass copies from various places.
There is also another version fitted to tristars, also quite rare

Tks guys, I see busman has the fibreglass ones for 16" but not 14", I'll keep searching.

How much extra flare do you think these will give?, Enough to stop me getting the mud paint out !!?

Tks guys, from the pics I've seen I think the postal flares look nicer but I imagine the tristar flares will give more cover for mud spatter, am I right?

i'm still waiting for someone to show me a swiss post bus with these plastic bits on them.

and i think it's a sure thing to say that i've seen more swiss post vans than probably anyone else on the samba or 80-90...........

Any tips on what to use for bonding these on? The fixing studs on mine are long gone. I was hoping that if I needed to get them off at a later date that I could without damage to the paint and trims - maybe just wishful thinking??

We use Sikaflex on boats at work but it sticks pretty much permanently. Butyl Rubber was another thought but I'm not sure if its sticks strong enough on its own without a mechanical fixing.

Zak, theres a post on here somewhere with a how to on replacing the studs which is by far the best solution for fixing the trims back on. just run a search and you should be able to find it.

I've got a set of four 'spats' with the lugs rusted out, and looking for ways to re-fit them, so this post might be of some interest.....if I could find it! Any ideas, anyone?
