ive converted my t25 van to a surf bus,i want to change logbook to campervan do i have to have a sink and ccoking equipment fitted to get logbook changed.i have everything else required bed, storage and table.

Basically yes. It's been discussed at length on here before with a link to the relevant part of the DVLA website.

Try doing a search using DVLA and V5 as keywords and the thread(s) might show up.

Don't think the links in the Wiki unfortunately....

As Bren has said there's a link knocking about somewhere with the actual list of requirements but basically Yes, you need a fixed cooker, bed (or seat which forms one), a table (mountable to either the wall or floor) and cupboard(s). In ye olde days you just told them to change it from Panel Van to Twin-Axle Rigid Motorcaravan and they rolled over and got on with it like good little rubber stampers. Sadly (perhaps) they have now grown a pair and can demand an inspection or seek photographic evidence to support your modification claims.

Why do you want to change it? - if it is for insurance purposes you don't need to, mine hasn't been changed and my ins. co. is quite happy to call and insure it as a camper. If it is because you have a panel van and are speed restricted due to it being a goods vehicle then maybe go ahead, but if you have a slow van you aren't really going to be affected anyway!

It's the same as my Merc bus - it is what it is presented as - a camper. That is what I would sue for in court. If the dvla don't think that the external appearance of the body has been changed to look like a camper they have been rejecting applications to change the body type to 'motorcaravan', so your theoretical supposition does not mean anything. It can be fully fitted out as a camper but they have rejected applications. A self build club that I was a member of spent over a year in consultation with the dvla over their tightening of the visual aspect of their 'rules'.
They were more concerned because the majority of them were converting panel vans which were speed restricted as vans which is removed when it becomes classed as 'motorcaravan'.

its a 1.7 diesel,so yes it is slow.i did look on dvla site and read all the requirements the only thing i aint got is cooker and sink.im more worried that if i had to make a claim it may cause me a few problems as i know they try to get out of paying out.when i took out insurance he asked if logbook had been changed and said i needed to get it changed,will have to give them a ring me thinks.thanks for help guys mucho appreciated.
