My van is not running problems, juddering and not running properly for a few days. I have had about 5 back fires and some juddering, poor exceleration. Also cuts out at traffic lights occassionally. Where is the best place to start?
Cheers in advance.

when my old 1.9 did the same thing it was a hose from around the carb area had come off (fitted to the back of carb as you look at engine)

backfiring and lumpyness is fuel (or lack of it) usually
so yes air leaks and or fuel delivery (filters, pump)

Also inspect your exhaust system for leaks.

Thank you
Problem is now more intermittent, must point to fuel filters, will get it over the pit and have a peak.

With all this rain it could be water in the tank

Could be. Also a spray of WD40 over the coil, plugs & leads and cap may help if everything's been soaking wet.
