It's a 1988 1.6TD, gave it to a trusted mechanic when the manifold started separating from the engine. He tells me most of the studs have failed, and the manifold is cracked, and (presumably) will have to be replaced. He is firmly of the view that it happened because the exhaust has no play in it, so any engine shake throws all the stress into the manifold.

Anyway... Any advice on where I should look for a replacement manifold? And advice on the theory of the exhaust mounts? As far as I can tell the mounts are the right ones, but he's got more experience than me.
