Surely you should fix it. You will need it if your van overheats

or if it get's a leak and your engine quietly bleeds to death.

just check the thing

make sure the tank is full and is not flashing because it's half full
take off the connectors from the sensor and connect the wires together.. it should stop

Did you miss this when you used the wiki?

https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Co ... ht_on_dash" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

read the entry by Angelo evs

or use the search on the electrical forum and type 'relay 43' or 'module 43', or 'flashing light'

as well as reading the wiki...which is good. you could try

taking off the level sensor and cleaning the prongs with a rag...they get gunked up
replacing the sensor for a new one from brickwerks ( the cheap ones can apparently give grief) about £18
get your hand up under the dash....feel for a connector block...and give it a wiggle (this sorted mine!!)..never flashed since.

you may find that you have to repeat the cleaning, wiggling, cleaning cycle until you drop on.....its all a bit touch and go.

read the wiki...and check out the comments on earth crowns (i never understood this bit)

it can be fixed...and you should try for peach of mind.

A soft, fuzzy feeling.

Whatever you do with the sensor, don't overtighten it back into the tank - I suspect this is the main cause of problems with the "cheap ones". We paid €2 for a new one, after the old (genuine) one started peeing coolant everywhere, and it's been fine so far. The old one had been overtightened in the past and cracked at the top of the thread, then been glued back together.

Definitely give it a good cleaning, though - that sorted a lot of false-positive lights for us. The prongs were thick with goop.

A good clean solved my false flashing (of the light ;)) for me too :)
