Interior designs

Have been looking at interiors lately, everything seems to be wood/pine looking. This stuff is ok, but I don't think it will suit my van.
I'm trying to find a place that uses different materials. I found this place in the states and love the interior style

Anybody know somewhere UK based that does something similar?

Those aluminium drawers are weird - never seen anything like that before! Quite like the layout. The finish on the drawers just looks like a laminate, I did my own cupboards with Formica Colorcore (pic here: http://t25camper.files.wordpress.com/20 ... 6-E D I T.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;), it's a bit expensive but regular Formica isn't too bad, and they have a large range of plain colours (it doesn't have to be wood effect!)

Don't like the worktop in that US conversion, looks too thin.

I saw that GRP company mentioned in one of the VW magazines (can't recall which one), but their stuff looked very neat.

@ uniB I like your interior, I remember looking at your blog a while back, when I had my 2WD
@daveyp2004 cheers for the links, I like the material, they layouts they use are still a bit samey though
This another firm I love the look of http://www.offroad-busse.de/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I might send the US firm a email, see if they have a European distributer

I made my own 'Terracamper' style interior last summer but it's based on traditional Westy type cabinets rather than bolt on boxes.
I ripped off the terock colour scheme too!

Here's the unit that houses the top loading fridge and electrics/batteries.

The kitchen block and fridge unit were an overall success and only need minor changes from hinged tops to tambour tops.
The rear cupboard was a total disaster and needs a complete rethink It was thrown together in a couple days and only lasted about that too
It's a tricky shape at the back of a T3 and if you look at the Terracampers, they stay quite low.
Next year I'm going to thin out the drawers(too heavy) and sort out some sort of quick release system so it's easy to remove. At the moment it takes about an hour to remove it.

That's the kinda thing I'm trying to find! Where did you get the materials/framework from?

I got the frame and connectors from http://www.richardsonsuk.co.uk/product.aspx?p=47" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and used 2m Length Aluminium Single Finned Square Tube. The main issue was that I couldn't get hold of 2m Length Aluminium Single Finned Square Tubes with adjacent fins for doing corner posts at right angles (pretty essential for making boxes). They are available in the double fin(where the panels fit inside 2 fins) but i didn't like the look of those. They've since become available through these lot http://www.dartfrog.co.uk/equipment/al- ... #aluminium" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and it'll save you hours of riveting aluminum angle down one side  .

The orange pvc panels were from http://www.amariplastics.com/amariplast ... sp?tid=102" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; but they mark easily and the top panels warp in the French southern heat. Terra camper use composite aluminium panels but they dent very easily. I think I'll replace mine with 3mm laminated ply when the plastic ones look really battered.

If I was starting from scratch I'd base the kitchen unit around euroboxes for drawers and not use ikea drawer kits as they weigh too much and the catches are crap. I'd use some sort of quick release like this http://www.unwin-safety.com/flooring-sy ... l-products" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and have properly planned tambour doors on the fridge unit. Oh, I'd make the whole thing out of mdf first and live with it for a summer. That would have saved about £300 in ordering stuff you don't need  It's definitely a work in progress and one benefit is that you can reuse all of the tubes and connectors for other stuff (like vivariums) :idea

If your around W5 come over and have a gander :ok

To be honest, the Sterling's so good that I haven't used the Ctek yet!

Cheers for the info :ok I've to some friends in Ealing that we visit occasionally, I might well send you a pm and see if you are around.
Funnily enough, you have the same 12V set up as me. As you, we rarely use the CTEK. Plugged it once on a campsite in Italy, when we were parked up for 4 nights/day in 40 deg heat. that sure makes the fridge work harder! The CTEK is great though, I got the 25amp one, think you need it if your running a few batteries.
