Hi all. Yet another thing to ask.
Ive cleaned the water tank with puraclean and flushed it through with fresh clean water as per instructions, but it has thrown up yet another problem the water in the tank is not going up the pipe to the pump which is just under the sink.thing is how the heck are you ment to get the water to go up the pipe to the pump and thus to the tap on the sinkk, almost forgot to say the pump is working fine i put one end in a jug of water and the pump was working so well that i had an early bath but still none in the pipe.
Also does anyone know how to change the thermostate without disconecting everything and draining the hole system then having to bleed it all. Ive only just paid around £200 quid to get all the pipes checked and new antifreeze put in so not realy in the mood for another big bill this side of Christmas or even after it, problem is im also disabled so cant realy do much crawling around under it any advice greatfully recieved thanks nostalgic.

If your pump is above the water tank it will need to be primed. You may need to suck the water up by mouth, or get the pump below the water level to get it going with liquid in it somehow. If your tap has a mechanical closure make sure its opening!

Ok thanks ill give that a go, maybe when it stops snowing though as i dont fancy sticking my head under the sink just now as my lips might freeze to the pipe.

Turn the pump on,open the tap and suck hard on the tap opening - I quite often have to do this with mine.

What van is this in ie westie etc ??? westies dont self prime, where as my shurflo one will prime to 6 ft!

Its in a vwt25 2.1 dj transporter 112 high top Bilbo conversion.
The pump is one of the elephant type things in line just under the sink, i hope that makes sence. If you need to be exact ill need to have another look at it thanks nostalgic.

just check its not frozen as well!

Oh yeah that would be it a Whale i think maybe it might be a good idea if i get the exact make and let you all know.

Pump in our Westy's submerged, so doesn't need to self-prime (or be primed manually).

Ok tried sucking the pipe and sucking the tap. Tried puting water down pipe to bring the water level up to the punp. But so far no luck.pump works fine from another container full of water put under sink so im going to use it like that for a while.as ive got the thermostate to fix thanks to you all for all your help and adv :oops:ce which i will copy down and come back to later to try again. I forgot to say ill move the pump somewhere nearer to the water aswell and see if that helps.

well it's clear there's a problem from, or more likely in the water tank

Ok thanks ill look at the tank as well.

Check that you haven't got a one way valve in the pipework that's not working as it should.
