I have just been wild camping on the North York Moors, -4 degrees and snow! I have a Westy Atlantic and generally it's well suited to "extreme camping" conditions, however one flaw is the metal area at the top of the rear door. This gets lots of condensation which then drips on you!!

Has anyone come up with a solution for this? A special coating maybe?

yes there is no covering on them as i recall. you could make a few holes ,say 3/8" and fill with expanding foam, then fit nice grommets back in the holes, if you had the rear screen out then the holes couldbe made in the surround hidden behind the rubber, may have to think about doing this

always thought that foam produce moisture as it cured?

not aware of that with crazy foam, but i will stand to be corrected as always thing is the metal inside is joined to the outer so in effect a cold bridge, personally i will try the foam , either on one of my own or the next one i do

The foam actually needs moisture to speed up the curing, hence the suggestion in the instructions that you spray the area with water prior to adding the foam. It is totally dry by the time it has cured (which can take weeks in an enclosed space).

Water actually helps with the foaming aspect (it reacts to release CO2) and can be present in the cans before use. But following on from curing there should be none left as it all should react during curing.
