HI, I am looking to fit some E Class Merc rims to my 1991 T25 pop top.
Would 255/50.R16W 92W tyres definitely be too light ? ( I found some nice wheels with these on)

Thanks

255/50's on 16" alloys...are you sure?

Anyway....ideally you'll want 215/60/16's or 225/55/16's as these are available in 99 load ratings.

Many thanks for the response - Good question, the seller has gone to re check his tyre specs although I think the 92 figure is correct - if that is the load rating would it be too light ?

In theory yes as the maximum axle weights(that's what you need to base your tyre choice on) are approx 1200kg front and 1300kg rear.
92 load rated tyres can only carry a maximum of 630kg each....1260kg in total so just high enough for the front but not for the rear.

It will no doubt get mentioned again(yawn) but 97 load rating was stated by VW......but that was over 30 years ago when tyre technology and tyre choice wasn't what it is today.

I would personally fit either of the 2 sizes I've already mentioned and especially on a camper....your choice though.
