Bash plate padding.

I wonder if anyone can help in recommending a decent product for putting between the sump and engine bash plate on a diesel van? I have got all the engine shrouds on but the odd rock or two still finds its way in. I dont want to risk any damage to the sump or the inconvenience of having to remove rocks that send vibrations through the van when wedged in the gap.

I am going to use this stuff on my bashplate and on the tinware
http://www.pipelagging.com/armaflex-cla ... -p-54.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I think that would still leave a gap under the sump though, that one is 13mm, there is another on the site that is 19mm. So maybe measure the gap and see if 19mm fills it.
Other than that have you considered rockwool? Pretty much indestructable

There is a guy who goes round most of the camper shows selling foam in various sizes....if nobody can put a name on here for him I might have his card somewhere....it's closed cell foam he sells and it's cheap...te stuff is like a snap on or similar " ligging board" Or whatever you upmarket types call a lying down work mat..that stuff might do the trick?

Ligging mat, I believe the term derives from "leggers " who laid on their back on the top of a narrow boat. And used their legs to push the boat through a tunnel where boat horses couldn't go.

Hi density foam in a black plastic sack will do the trick.
