There is a small toggle switch on my dash near the steering wheel, with an LED next to it. Sometimes the LED is on, sometimes it is off, regardless of which way the switch is set. Previous owner said he didn't know what it was for. Switching it on and off doesn't have any obvious effect. My best guess is that it's something to do with the leisure battery/ relay.

Yes, I could trace the wires and see what they are attached to, but it's all a bit buried away. I will try to do that, but just wondering if there is an obvious explanation for what this switch is for? It's a devon moonraker and has leisure battery, fridge, propex heater etc.

The ball says it could be anything from an auxiliary foglight switch to next doors doorbell.

yeah, yeah I thought I might get that reaction! I was hoping that it might be something common that is fitted to loads of T25's.

OK, there's also this mysterious stick protruding from the cab floor near the dash, which appears to be related to whether the van moves forwards or backwards when you press some of the levers near the floor under the steering wheel, when the engine is running. It has an H pattern and some numbers on the top. Any ideas?

Heck, never noticed that stick. I've been too busy trying to figure out that round wheel that gets in my way when I get in and out to polish the dash,

Wouldn't it be fun if we all fitted random switches and indicators that did bugger all just prior to selling our vans?

If I ever sell my van the new owner will be on here every day for a week.
There's a toggle switch to the left of the steering wheel that turns off the extra ciggy socket in the clock pod for the SatNav.
There another smaller one that used to disarm the ignition before I fitted a proper alarm.
There's a round switch fitted in the hole that the original ciggy lighter fitted in that switches on the bilge blower for the heating.
There's another round switch mounted in the front of the dash tidy to fill a hole the previous owner had made in it. Just to really confuse the next owner this one is wired so the LED indicator works but I haven't actual wired the switch to anything yet.
There's also the LED for the alarm and an LED that reminds me I've left the ZIG unit switched to 12v fitted into one of the switch blanks.

It's only an obsession if you also have a fablon covered pre-start and engine-shutdown checklist. With red-tagged cards for emergency procedures that you simply HAVE to learn by heart before you can go to sleep...

(I do have a small piece of fablon covered card I referred to for my LPG system when it was first fitted but I can do it without checking now - mainly useful for other drivers of my van who can't work out how to switch fuels!)
