Should the heater controls be illuminated when the lights are on? If so, then mine aren't.
If not, why not? You can't see what you're doing in the dark.

Yes they should.Your bulb must need replacing.

Yes. There is a bulb located to the side of the heater control panel. You need to carefully remove the levers and fan control knob and then the panel (easily cracked btw) and you will see the old bulb. Good luck! I ended up having to stick the panel back on with a blob of sealant because the plastic fastener broke off.

Got the front off easy enough, and the problem turned out to be simple - the earth wire had come detached from the bulb holder. Put it back on, but it was a bit loose, so I gave it a squeeze with some pliers, and tightened it up, and it went back on fine. Lights now work. If you're doing this, try to fit the slider knobs back on before you fix the plate back, as it's a bit tricky getting them back on the end of the control bars once the plate is fixed.

Have you got a loose wire on the switch? Also worth checking continuity in the switch - I've been caught with that before!

The fuse had blown. Swapped one in and it works again, but it's a bit wheezy.

It's prolly what blew the fuse

Not a very technical job, but quite time consuming.

I've just looking at mine, because the light wasn't working. Omg, the guy who had Harry before had no electrical skills but that never stopped him!!!! The earth for the light went to a block behind the stereo that was flapping in the breeze. There was another block in the stereo where this one should have gone but half the wires from that had been cut. What a mess.

So a rewire is in order. And I'll use different colour wires (not all blue that this guy did)

On the upside, the bulb actually works :)
