Can I get a set of new matching replacement locks or is it a case of matching odd locks to the ignition barrel?

stripping all the locks you can retumble them to match the ignition. done correctly with decent locks this is ok , if you use old worn or damaged locks or just bodge it its never worth it.
may be aeasier to look for a complete set tho and sell your old.
usually around the £100 mark for a set , remember you will get around this for your old individuaL locks
also a complete lock set will as original come with fuel cap!
not sure i have any left but will have a look around

Please do. The local MOT station lost the ignition key (and of course all the others) on a new to us, 1 key only van. I have to source replacements before I bill them. Muppets!

Hi billy-
Im looking to replace my chocolate locks too- are you saying that the old locks are actually worth something?
Would i just need New lock barrels and corresponding keys, but re -use the handles? I can imagine springs and things popping out everywhere
I hope its a diy job, like to get as much done as possible myself !
Thanks

Does look a bit of i fiddle! My ignition key is New, so would be nice to use that and tumble the rest to match i suppose. . Good idea?

Hi all,
Went into my local VW van centre today to ask about the tumbler kit; it is a kit of 200 springs and 50 of four different types of tumbler (200 total) for about £63, not the cheapest but it would do a lot of locks. The tumblers appear to come in 12 mm & 13.5mm dia . The part No for the kit is 443 898 041, one version has an A on the end of the part number.
I need to get my locks off

and measure the dia of the barrel before I part with my cash.
