Repairing diesel snorkel

Hi folks,

Given the floods up here today, I'm keen to make the van as weather proof as I can. The snorkel flexi pipe is completely shot. Whilst I don't anticipate any deep water activities(!), I'd rather this was sealed , just in case

Any recommendations on where to get flexi? Didn't find anything in BnQ and the likes.

Thanks, J

Hi there i had the same problem with the flexi and managed to cobble something together with a vacuum hose, not sure if this is a useful tip but it worked for me....................

Thanks. I've stripped it and the lower flexi is the one that has disintegrated. I need some rubber flexi with a diameter of about 70mm (on the inside) and thickness of approx 5mm. I am struggling to find anything online. hmmm...

Fitted this last week, was perfect. Sealed it with TigerSeal.

THe oval shaped pipe going up the top is proving impossible to get onto the top part of the snorkel, so might need to replace that Any ideas?

Also, I noticed that the rear vents are angled up the way, meaning water channels down the vent when it's raining to the engine compartment. I noticed a big puddle at th e foot of the snorkel. Why is this? I'd have had them angled the other way to stop water coming in?

Its for the air flow but for a water cooled i would have thought they might have changed the design a little better

SO they are all the same? Strange. Now I've noticed the puddles I'll get it dries cleaned and some waxoyl of something on. JUst asking for problems with water coming down there!
