Anyone have any idea what the mystery red switch in the bottom right hand corner of this photo does? The switch itself lights up when it's switched on, but I can't figure out what it's turning on!

It's not standard mate so no one will know apart from the previous owner or whomever fitted it.
Sometimes people fit a switch to control the power to the fridge when it runs off the battery.
But who can tell unless you start tracing the wires.....

As Ringo has stated gonna have to follow the wires, there should be three wire on the back of it 12v in , 12v out and then a ground/earth for the bulb

It's red - it must be the self destruct system, or maybe the ejector seat.

Are the seats original or do they say 'Martin Baker' on them somewhere?

We could have a "guess it" competition.

I will go for an isolation switch for the radio (to stop battery drain).
or a manual switch for the rad fan...

I bet that red wire you can see poking out on the right is going to the switch.

Anyway, daft place to put it really as that panel is designed to come off...

Arthur Dent: I wonder what'll happen if I press this button.
F0rd Prefect: Don't !
Arthur Dent: [presses it] Oh.
F0rd Prefect: What happened?
Arthur Dent: A sign lit up saying "Please do not press this button again."

:rofl

So far I have ruled out ejector seat and nuclear warhead detonator.

Next on the list for elimination is warp-speed activator.

Perhaps it just lights up red when you turn it on, and thats it. ;)

I found one that switched the horn on and off! You still used the horn push on the steering wheel, but the switch deactivated it? Only reason I could possibly think of was that perhaps there was a bunk bed and it stopped yer bum from setting it off in the night?! :rofl

It's the fridge.
Works when the fridge is running off the main battery.
Was probably a black toggle switch originally but got changed to a light up one after accidentally being left on all night necessitating a call to the AA for the tenth time.
Mine's blue...
Not funny but true.
