Drop links.

Just been refitting the drop links on the pickup...I noticed that they have a kink in them and I have fitted them to the pressed lower arms with the kink going inwards at the bottom...then I thought "is this right" and crawled under my van to find it has straight links....and pressed arms...so I went and looked at the anti roll bar and links that came with the pair of cast arms I got...and they are kinked but handed l-r whereas the pick up ones are not handed! So what's going on here..and what is the correct way round for all the kinky ones?

early drop links are only kinked slightly in one plane and are not handed, late ones to match the cast arms are kinked in two planes and are handed, see Dai's build thread
pay attention at the back there
you fit them kicking back and out btw, roll bar is shaped so if you didn't take them off the roll bar they will be correctly orientated as the roll bar should only go on one way, iirc middle dip in roll bar to the floor, same early and late

All syncros have the 21mm antiroll bar on so should be the same regardless of early or late - same as almost all T3s upto May 86, there was a very rare 23mm bar too early on but difficult to id which vans it was fitted to, probably ambulances and GLs or HD spec, after May 1986 2wd poverty spec vans were fitted with 19mm antiroll bar hence being a little bit wallowy and wind blown when full campered
floor of garage

it a 21...the ends of the bars are in the same place but the bars have a diiferent shape...but thats not an issue...should the lower ends point outwards or in on pressed arms is what i need to find a answer to..

So do mine, I'm sure that was what I was advised on here, when asking?
I even split the poly bush removing them to change over, and had to buy a new set.

apologies if I've stated the wrong way round, it was from memory, I didn't look under the van to check, when I swapped to late arms I copied Beaker which I owned at the time so which ever Edna's are the same as that, I'll check mine in daylight

Well...never did get a definitive answer but I have concluded that with the pressed arms the bottom of the links point in at the bottom and forged ones point out and backwards, also there's two different shapes of 21 mm roll bar but seem to fit and do exactly the same job with either type arms and links...
