i know its been discussed before but i cant find the post so i´ll ask again,
does anyone know where i can buy the whole waffle board sheets , the ones i can cut to size myself???

I think it's the stuff for oil rig platforms and or base for plant machinery that they use if you can find any

google fibreglass + grp + grating and a few matches come up.

Think a group of us used fibreglassgrating.co.uk when we did it.

the green can't be used over a metre or more to actually fully 'bridge' a Syncro, without the glass startingt o ping and crack, but that isn't usually a requirement as such. LR boys use the red (45mm) to bridge with

I'm not sure the colours are size specific, a lot of the substations I used to work in had a variety of colours and thicknesses.

Did end up with a couple of offcuts from a grey set which are very chunky, approx 2". They're a bit narrow in an ideal world, but they bridge gaps quite nicely!

Had a 7.5t merc vario parked on some bridging nearly 2ft!

Maybe the red was produced fro the LR boys, at a given thickness - I've heard it said red is thicker than green, so just repeting it. I expect you're correct, it depends which market and spec its being for and to

does anyone use the 38mm and can they handle the weight of a big fat syncro??

We all have the 38mm Jason. It depends on what you mean by handle, a full pin-jointed (point support either end) bridge of 1.5 metres x 15" and run the rear of a Doka diesel up it and at the the half-way mark (max neding moment) you can hear the fibres cracking clearly.

However, that's not how we tend to use it - as a full span unsupported bridge. generally its just used to bridge small gaps, stabilise loose soil near an edge (Devon this year!) and one can always pack stuff underneath the middle of it...

ive got a set of the 50mm and they pop and crack like crazy when you drive over them but they dont seem to bow much at all, i think that for half lengths and jack stands the 38`s would be spot on.
ive done quite a bit of ringing round for prices and i must say that it doesn´t look like its worthwhile cutting them myself ,not when you take the time and effort into account ,i think i could save a couple of quid on each set

i wouldnt be able to recommend any of them really and the prices seem to be pretty much standard across the board but im constantly looking and if i find anything cheaper than the rest i´ll send you a link

13mm black/charcoal for drainage around a very large flush-floor patio, anything non std.>(yellow, green or red is std.) can be done. 13mm, 38, 50 or even 67 thick (heavy, heavy!)

A lot is used on Oil Tankers for decking (non-magnetic, non-sparking).

They can not only cut to size, but mould to size (no sticky outy legs after cutting), even mould (hot-set resin) I-beam structural sections and dumbell style longerons

He's even thinking of specifying it for scaffold treadplate instead of the buffalo board that eventually deteriorates (phenolic (brown) coated quality ply)
