Please can anyone help - we have a loose black wire with no connection behind the fuse box I have traced it to the fog light switch where does it connect? - is the black wire live or earth? Any help appreciated.

According to the Haynes Manual there isn't a black wire connected to the fog light switch; in fact all the wires are two coloured except the solid brown coloured one that runs from the switch indicator lamp to earth. I think that the diagram is for the later fusebox vans. Yours and early fusebox?

Hi yes ours is the early it has the barrel fuses

Somebody with an Aircooled Haynes Manual might have though......

It's not original. If it goes to one of the spare fuses to the right of the fusebox then it is most likely been wired for front fog lamps as well.
