Hi all,

Does anyone have these on their van at the moment? How do you find the? worth the money?

I'm on standard ride height but wanting to upgrade the suspension on a 'rolling' basis, with brakes following soon. Springs are in very good condition, I think they were new a few years ago.

Cheers, J

i have bilstein b6 on my van with the uprated damper springs fitted and 45 mm h/r lowering springs i am well happy how it rides but i also have uprated front and rear anti roll bars , the bilstein are definately the best available loads better than the avo and koni reds what they replaced

THanks faggie. Would I be right in saying that I don't have a rear arb? I'm sure I've never noticed one. Does the same logic apply that is you stiffen up the rear, you will tighten up the front end handling and make it less understeery? Not that I want a sports car mind you, just a bit more stability and less pitching under braking.

yes only the vw ambulances come fitted with a anti roll bar if you fit a rear arb you need to uprate the front as well , i would definately fit lowered springs if you dont want it really low go for the factory 30mm springs and b6 dampers it will be a massive improvement over stock ,, go for the b6s not b4 they are well worth the extra if you look around you can get them alot cheaper

A good cheap upgrade are the b4 shocks. Beware of -60 springs as they are usually jk rubbish.

I have just fitted Bilstein B4, coupled with Avo - 50 springs to my Hi top camper. It has transformed the ride from choppy, wallowing auto lane changing nastiness to a very comfortable, controlled ride..

I did consider B6's but I couldn't afford them, and to be honest I'm kinda glad that I went for the B4's.

Lasr week I went to a camp site that had a very rough quarter mile track leading to it and very bumpy fields, the suspension was just perfect, if I had gone lower or stiffer then I would have been in trouble, and the rides motorway speeds was impeccable too. My van does have 16 inch alloys with 25mm spacers on the back and 15 mm spacers on the front and a front splitter so all this helps keep things stable at speed.
