hi just wondered what weight ramps i need to be safe for my t25 camper for working on it.

Hi i dont bother with ramps anymore as before i got my t25 i had a morris minor
it was on ramps when a sudden movement made it roll of, my maye was under it and just got out in time. So if you still want them be very carefull as we found out the hard way they are not the safest things. Now this is just a thought but in Dover where we are thete is a trannsport museam it has a car lift. And if you join you can use it for a small donation like i said just a thought but may be worth looking around to see if youve got one.

My ramps are 2 tonne ones never had a problem wit hum rolling off!

If it's on ramps, it's on all four wheels, so handbrake/being in gear will stop it rolling away - just the same as if it's parked on a hill.

Come to think of it, i dont think it was chocked the hand break was on but for some reason it failed ( new cables followed) my mate was in a bit of a rush to, maybe instead of not doing anything on ramps again this can be a leaning curve for not rushing the work or safety aspect of things i think a rethink on use of ramps may be on the cards and the words dont use replaced with take care and take time. And use good quality ramps and chocks and dont let anyone rush.

As a mechanic it was drummed into us never to jack a vehicle up with out chocking it first! that way dont matter what you do it wont roll away!

It's worth remembering that axle stands and jacks are only as good as the bodywork that they're supporting, and it's easy for them to move... whilst vehicles are designed to sit on all four wheels.
