Hello peeps,

Well I have a wee story. When we bought gromit I bought a very expensive dinner set (a whole £6) and it's been used ever since on gromits adventures. Only problem is I've just found one of the handles off one of the mugs and now I am faced with an evil dilemma.

Do i buy another set for it to happen again probable resulting in my kitchen cupboard gaining unwanted odds and sods of crockery . My current plate saving device is a cushion shoved in the overhead cupboard where it all lives with my super dooper french pot set .

or

Should I buy a melamine set and be stuck with some damn awful pattern unless someone can shed the light on some sexy plastic plates somewhere?

I'm also on the market for some wine glasses of the plastic variety if anyone has any cheap recomendations.

Hi Mrs Mash, as with everything in life people's opinions will differ. Speaking for ourselves (2 adults...ish with 7 and 11 year old girls) we use insulated plastic camping mugs and a 4 place melamine dinner set (ex Wilko's). When mixing with the hoi poloi we've a boxed set of china mugs (somewhere at the front of the hi-top ?) for 'best'.

Anyone whose ungratefull enough and who doesn't like them won't like us anyway ... so sod 'em.

PLASTIC WINE GLASSES.... J.K.

Asda's do quite a range of plastic glasses,got a couple of nice whisky tumblers there,the whisky tastes great from them anyway and the more you have the better they are.

I bought Plastic wine glasses in tesco for 99p ea.

Woolworth's had some stylish ones at £1.50 ea.

Melamine crockery is available plain or patterned from various Supermarkets, etc, but as it is the end of the season, it would probably be better to wait until next year. Milletts or Blacks camping shops are another possibility.

I got my wine glasses from asda, can't remember how much though. They do a good range of glasses not to keen on the plates, just plain colours... they did some nice ones last year (but the ex got custody of them) so i'm waiting to see if anyone is doing nice plates too but i think it's down to personal taste.

Poundstretcher are selling their plastic plates/camping/garden stuff off at the moment. I've had some bargains.

got glasses in asda on the way down the road today - 50p!!!!!! for 4 yipeee

not found plates yet - the asda stuff was rubbish so I'm still looking.
