Hey everyone, just thought i'd say hello as this is my first post and im looking for some help with the digifant wiring on the 8v pb gti transplant that i'll be starting this weekend. I have all the diesel parts needed plus the engine,complete harness and ecu, I'll be able to bolt everything in as im not shy in throwing spanners about however im a little lacking in the electrics dept and even though this wiring is supposed to be as easy as it gets due to the engine harness being stand alone i need to find out what i need to connect up to get the ecu live to be able to start the engine, thanks in advance for any help with this.

If you're in sw can maybe give a few pointers.

It's been a while but from memory it is 3 or 4 wires from loom to t3.

Green red goes to starter for cranking signal

Rest is easy, ecu live and fuel pump are wired thr two basic relays.

Pretty sure fuel pump is switched earth which is possibly red yellow?

Cheers Elvis that's a big help, what you say about 3/4 wires being all thats needed rings true with what people tell me but hey just didn't know what wires went where so thanks for the info mate,

Get youself a mk2 haynes , wiring digrams are in there.

from what i can remember, when you end up with *just* the ecu loom there is one obvious connector that doesnt go anywhere - ie it wont have plug on the end going to the sensors/senders.

99% sure it is a 4 or 5 way multiplug with one of the terminals/wires blanked/missing.

This is just bad memory guesswrk but onw will be red/yellow , one is red/green and possibly a third is black/white.

When i say 'only' wiring , will have to sort out earth for ecu, and wiring for coil IIRC

Elvis you're a ledgend mate i can get everything i need from what you've sent me in those last 2 replys mate, i did get a haynes manual but couldn't make head nor tale of it but thanks again for the info.
