Input shaft removal urgent help please

Okay i removed the circlip and slide the reverse gear towards the end of the shaft.Haynes manual said then unscrew the rear part of the shaft.Is this a right hand thread it shows a a small threaded screw in the manual pict. Do i lock the diff and turn the shaft anti clockwise with mole grips.It wont unscew i tried .Need some help please.

Reverse gear?
Remove bellhousing.
Expand circlip and slide up the spigot shaft towars you.
The will then see a metal sleeve, pull that towards you, if it doesn't come enough then turn the final drive/diff into such a position that the hole in it allow you to pull the sleeve that little bit further.
Then, unscrew the spigot shaft anticlockwise.

I have tried to get it to turn but no luck its a 2ltr Aircooled cu gearbox.I even used stilsons .There is a well known south east gearbox reconditoners near me hopefully they can shift it.

They aren't that tight, are you sure the sleeve is far enough back? Give the shaft a wiggle with one hand then pull the sleeve with the other.
I doubt it very much if it siezed, it runs constantly in oil vapours and splashes and the chances of the thread being tight and the sleeve just fitting are minimal.

Thanks so much for the advice .I gave the shaft a wiggle and pulled up more on the reverse gear .The shaft unscrewed .I will do the same when i remove the one in the diesel gearbox.I very much appreciate your reply.

Its not the reverse gear, thats inside the box!
its just a sleeve!

The problem with the input shaft i had was with the 2ltr gearbox that was from a Aircooled .The input shaft has a gear cog as part of the sleeve its discribed in the haynes manual as reverse gear.I didnt pull it back enough to get it off the splines the gear cog seemed to catch the diff.I had no problem at all with the later gear box when i removed the input shaft i just pulled up the sleeve and it unscrewed.Thank you again Mr S B for your replies.
