temprature gauge

hi wondered if anyone could tell me if my temprature gauge sat between quarter and half is right someone tells me it should be sat higher when van is warm and worring now im not getting a true reading cheers.

they vary , what engine
does it run well,heater work at right temp no loosing water issues, fuel gauge correct-----ish

Its a 1990 1.9 petrol it runs well and heaters getting hot thought it might need a new thermostat but would the gauge move at all if thermostat was broken. first van so not very clued up on them.

yes it would still move ,i do bodys not lecky so oithers will be along , does your fuel gauge work ok , there are several reasond why a gauge will run high or low and not all are due to the source.ie fuel level or coolant temp

yeah fuel gauge seems fine do you think its changing thermostat and see how that goes just worried if im on a long run and its overheating and i dont know

cant say really, if its zero when cold and then as the engine warms up the gauge starts reading and its consistent then short of personaly being there and having a look I cant comment further,
if the stat sticks shut then you would be on here asking for help with a replacement engine so to speak. if its stuck wide open then it woiuyld run ok but the gauge may be reading low at this time of year, and thirdly it may not even have a sta fitted :shock:

change the sender...cheap enough
