Just dropped the Syncro in for its weekender conversion

And very excited I am!

I already took all the seats out the caravelle, ply lined the floor and fitted a full width bluebird bed and a swivel base to the passenger seat.

Now I am having a kitchen pod with double burner behind the drivers seat, 12v system and light put in, flooring, rear bed box and bed kick board. Having three of the rear door cards covered in carpet to snug it up a bit in the back.

Collect weds or thurs next week so ill post up a few pics next week.

Strangely nervous though!

Hi Dave

I have decided to go with these guys http://www.clearcutconversions.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I am sure you are well aware of the plethora of camper conversion companies in Devon and I have been and spoken to most of them (much to my wifes disgust!) who most seemed to charge stoopidly high prices for varying degrees of quality of work. These guys seemed easy to work with, all things considered they seem to be very reasonably priced and from what I have seen do a very good job. They are also not soley VW so it was nice to see them working on different styles of unit. The pod I am getting is similar to this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251001100884? ... 1423.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; but is a twin burner. I have had it made up as close to the grey westy colors as I could as I think it suits the 80's look of the van.

Fingers crossed it turns out to the brief, happy for you to take a look at some point when its done.

Wow you took the plunge on a conversion after all! Pop top too?

Did you get the sliding door panel fixed yet? ;)

No pop just yet my friend! 2013 funds permitting.....

I like the dent... .... fortunately I can pass it off as character building, a little reminder of the weekend!

I think we bought our velles at a similar time, I considered yours in fact, I just couldn't face going to wales to view it! Looked nice though, I'll have a search through your posts to see how you are getting on with it. I was going to go down the multivan/vanagon bed route that you have taken but funds/time/skills did not permit so I took the easy/lazy route. I'm sure many would say it damages the integrity of the van doing what I am doing but quite frankly I'm not concered, I'll let others worry about that. Life is for living, vans are for playing with. I'll keep the seats should I need to put it back though.

I'll post some up when it looking tidy :ok

Can't say I've done very much, except swap the rear bench for a folding bed. I've PM'd you.
