Hi
I know they aren't cheap but I got one last year, along with a propex and all led lighting it made out camping sooooooooooooooo much better.
It doesn't use that much juice and if you hook it up before you leave home to get the freezer compartment to temp it's great having ice all the time..
Cheers
Si

I hadn't realised they didn't need venting - it is very tempting to fill in all those useless holes on the side that let moisture in and rot out the floor......hmmmmmmm
Let us know when you get one

If only there was a camper sized version, think this would win as the coolest fridge

Not the compressor fridge again, I'm so tempted but just can't afford one. Please stop putting posts on about them or I'll have to sell the dogs for experimentation

My westy fridge bearly coped in France this year but Jed recons his compressor fridge freezes the bear at 40c. My main concern is having enough battery power without eating in to the precious little space we have.

they dont actually use that much , and especially if your off to the warmer climes then id stick a hundred quids worth of solr upo top and sorted , gas saving will help££ too, like any fridge, keep it full and dont leave the door open longer than ness. my next one when i build another will be one

If I ever get around to build my panel van in to a camper ill go for a chest style fridge as I keep visualising all the cold air falling out of the upright fridge every time I open the door.
Sorry. Prahaps I shouldn't have shared that.

makes sense, boats use that method but also do it for other reasons

My old Electrolux has a relay switch wired into the van electrics so the 12v can't be used when the van is stationary to save battery. Is this necessary with a compressor fridge which alegedly pulls less current?
