hello all, i generally reside over on the syncro pages but i hve a problem that is driving me mad....

i have just spent a lot of money replacing all the seals in both front doors which has stopped he drafts from the door windows but i now find that the noise from the doors was covering up the whistle from the vent system.

so after much fiddling i find i cant switch the thing off! i also am not sure what posion i need to have the levers in to swich it off as the manual i have is in German (is top 2 to the left, botom 2 to the right?) anyway as i have tryed every combination of lever posiion there is defintley somthing wrong....

so, can anyone tell me where the main flap is that lets air into the car and how to get to it? i want to see if that is closing properley before i fiddle about with anything else?

Thanks all

Taken this from theWiki....
Heater controls
Top to right: windscreen Top to left: off (if side blowers are closed)
Middle to right: Heat on
Lower to right: Directs heat to feet
Caravelles also have a fourth lever, controlling the upper fresh air vents in the roof.

Also do you have all the cardboard deflectors behind the lower front grill and upper grill still fitted, they often get left off or fall off because they go soggy with age.

Thanks for that. Can you tell me where the main fresh air in vent is and i can check that is completely closed?

I'm not sure they can be closed fully. I'm watching with interest in case than can be.

I don't think you can stop airflow completely by using the levers, but you could take off the little grill thing on the the fresh air intake behind the main grill and get a template made out of a solid piece?
